What if you had to live off less than $17 a day?
The average person seeking practical support from our community services struggles to make ends meet on less than $17 a day after paying for housing and accommodation.
The Salvation Army has a long history of providing services to support individuals and families who experience disadvantage, poverty and are deprived of opportunities and activities considered essential elements of everyday Australian life.
Through our community support and emergency relief services across the country, we are assisting people by providing food vouchers and parcels, assistance with utility bills, offering financial counselling and community meals. In the last year, The Salvation Army provided 138,369 episodes of emergency and material aid support and 29,019 episodes of specialised financial counselling.
